Inexpensive make up but not cheap!

I needed to share with you all my latest find. e.l.f. (http://www.eyeslipsface.com/default.asp) is a brand of cosmetics that is just amazing. I have tried and just love!! The best part is it only costs $1 per item. I have tried the lip glosses and I feel they are just as good as some of my more expensive ones. And the nail polish actually stays on. The lighter shades looked great. The darker shades looked a little thin so you have to add at least two coats.

Check them out - this is fun and inexpensive make up that has something to offer.

Books are treasure

I wanted to share my experience with www.paperbackswap.com. I have to say I am very impressed with their site and the wonderful books I have gotten from there.

Usually I donate books to the library or Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Then I found out out paperbackswap.com I don't quite remember how I found out, maybe from a book group I belong to. I was a bit hesitant but thought, why not? So I registered and they gave me 3 credits just for joining (I believe now they only give 2 credits) That way you can try it with no incurred expense. I ordered some books, I posted some books in my account, people ordered from me and I was on my way!! I love the wish list - basically you just add any and all books you would like to have even if they are not posted by anyone. Once someone posts the books and you are the next person in line to receive the book - it is yours!! I love that.

For the most part I have a lot of self help books. I am into that at the moment and have been for a few years now. Since I don't usually purchase books all that much, this is a great way to be able to own a book for about $2.13 a book. I get to read these books and make them available to others after I am done.

All my books are also registered with http://www.bookcrossing.com/ as well. It is a great way to keep track of where these books are.

I think the most amazing thing is that these sites are free of charge. You can pay for some additional features but for me the basics work just fine and I am happy to save my money for say ... more books? :-)

School starts

I am so excited and at the same time so nervous about starting my last semester here at school. I will be getting my Associates degree in Computer Information Systems on June 1st. To me it is a dream and an accomplishment. I am so proud of myself.

My husband was dead against this. He told me, don't enroll. But I did what I thought was right for us, especially for my son. And you know what? I WAS RIGHT!! Ha, ha!! I did the right thing and we were able to afford it. Having the degree can only add to my options and the opportunities. How can it be bad?

As a gift to myself, I am going for a month long trip to Brazil with my son. It will be winter time there but it will be great for us, because we can spend more time with family. I just want to visit with my Mom and brother, meet my little nephew and have them meet my boy as well.

I am taking a Web Design class as well as Project Management. I am looking forward to this semester and will hopefully complete the degree with a 4.0 point average.

The Day After

Hey!! This is the day after I decided to start my own blog :-) Nothing much to report except that the idea of trying to find my passion or niche in life is coming on strong. I just started thinking about the topic this week. I have time in my hands to figure out where I want to be career/life wise. I believe that career is a main component of life; it has to be fulfilling, rewarding, challenging, and it has to excite me somehow. I am not sure what that is but I will be pursuing this in the coming months.

I have been listening to my favorite podcast: Donate Your Weight. I just love the ideas that are talked about in this podcast. You can check it out at www.donateyourweight.com

That's all for now.

Just Something New

I am trying out this blog thing :-) I like to take my time before doing new things like this - I feel more comfortable that way. Even though I have worked in the computer field for a while before staying home with my baby, I have always preferred to take my time with things, including technology.

Let's see if this goes anywhere. I am starting this year with the feeling that it will be a "banner year" for me. So I thought it was important to record it somehow.

Hugs,

Fe
